
Job Description
- Evaluate a diamond and determine the initial clarity, polish and symmetry grades.
- Follow standard grading methodology and examination techniques to evaluate a diamond using proper tools and devices (i.e. microscope, loupe, tweezers, etc.)
- Observing the quality of the diamonds using a microscope to check for inclusions such as chips, cracks, or other flaws that may affect the diamond’s value
- Analyzing diamonds to determine their value based on factors such as cut, color, clarity, carat weight, and origin
- Assisting customers with selecting diamonds that are appropriate for their needs
- Appraising diamonds to determine their value based on factors such as cut, color, clarity, carat weight, and origin
- Measuring diamonds using precision equipment such as a spectrometer to determine their exact chemical composition
- Maintaining a database of information about diamonds that have been appraised or graded to allow for future comparisons
