Hello! We are looking for a seasoned jewellery designer (8-10 years) to lead 'Design' for Shaya. This role would be Mumbai/ Jaipur base

Here's our checklist for an ideal candidate:

1. You’ve been designing jewellery for the last 8-10 years, of which you spent at least 2 years designing for a reputed silver or fashion jewellery brand.
2. You love research as much as you love design & art. You love to connect your designs to stories and are able to articulate them well both in words and pictures.
3. You are highly detail oriented and that shows in your sketches, renders and spec sheets.
4. You can’t 'not stop and stare' when walking past or browsing beautiful jewellery.
5. You like to hear feedback from customers (internal and external) and are willing to adapt your designs basis the business requirement.
6. You enjoy mentoring other designers and helping them grow and succeed.
7. You are a go-getter, always up for new challenges.
8. You are fair and open in your dealings with people.

Role:

1. Research, ideate and work on new collection concepts.
2. Work closely with the merchandise and business teams to understand the performance of your designs, get aligned on design gaps and opportunities.
3. Mentor and guide the design team. You will also build a network of freelance designers and work with them to come up with fresh ideas.
4. Conduct user testing and interviews to make design improvements and innovations, or solve problems.
5. Manage sampling timelines and relationships with internal and external production teams.
6. Approve and finalise all samples along with QC and Merchandise input.
7. You will be spending approximately 50% of your time working on your own designs.

Good to know: This role will require you to travel once or twice a month.
