GIA India Job: Senior Application Lead in Mumbai at Gemological Institute of America

Essential Duties
 

• Develops relationships with GIA India Laboratory stakeholders to assess technology support and
  security needs.
• Advocate business portfolio priorities on behalf of lab clients within the IT organization.
• Perform feasibility analysis, scopes projects, and works with the project management team to prioritizes deliverables, and negotiate product functionalities.
• Code, test, implement, and design of in-house software applications to meet both functional and
  technical requirements.
• Analyze, facilitate, model, and organize information in order to reconcile conflicts, elicit requirements and develop solution ideas from lab business needs.
• Manage end to end solution delivery using appropriate delivery techniques and approaches (e.g. AGILE methodology, design thinking, etc.).
• Ensure deliverables meet customer expectations for speed, quality, and value.
• Collaborate with other applications development managers and stakeholders to develop, execute, and continuously improve delivery practices.
• Develop policies & procedures that outline all aspects of application development and maintenance including: life-cycle development strategies, testing and implementation plans, and post-implementation monitoring
• Develop relationships with vendors to ensure proper functionality of existing software technologies
• Recommend and maintain any hardware improvements required to support all developed systems

Technical Requirements
 

• Experience with web frameworks such as Angular, R, NodeJS, SASS, etc.
• Knowledge of Application Middle Tier platforms like WebLogic and Tomcat.
• Knowledge of core J2EE Development Platform.
• Experience with SQL and PL/SQL, REST /GraphQL API
• Experience with Agile Scrum development practices.
• Experience with version control systems like GitHub and Docker
• DevOps, continuous delivery, and continuous integration practices knowledge is a plus
• Working with Micro services architecture is good to have
• Experience with cloud technologies is good to have.
• Ability to deal effectively with a variety of personalities to establish and maintain effective working
  relationships.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in application and solution development.
• 5+ years of experience in architecture design and development.
• 5+ years of customer interfacing experience – project oversight, customer presentation.
• Knowledgeable of AWS Cloud Computing environment.
• Extensive experience of managing client queries and problems.
