Responsibilities

• Collaborates to develop buying plans and pricing strategies that maximize turns and overall profitability.

• Works with Inventory Control team to ensure accurate receipt of product.

• Work with vendors to order, select and purchase loose diamonds from sellers across the globe.

• Review sales, demand forecast and on-hand inventory to maintain a continuously current buying plan.

• Actively maintains mutually beneficial vendor relationships to ensure that we are purchasing the right product, at the right time and at the right price for our customers.

• Arranges delivery of merchandise in timely fashion

• Values and evaluates profitability of diamond purchases, including analysis of inventory turns and GMROI

• Assists in sourcing for special orders requests.

• Analyzes excess, dated, and slow turning inventory.

• Works with Diamond QC team as needed to participate in diamond grading.

• Maintains knowledge of world markets to understand industry trends.

• Establishes, develops, and maintains constructive, collaborative relationships within the department and across the company.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years diamond buying experience. Strengths in:

• Depth of Business acumen regards to Diamond

• Strong in Analytics

• Customer Service and Fluent Communication skills 

• Sound knowledge with MS tools

• Any Certification with GIA is a plus

• At least a Graduate Degree
