The Colour Stone Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inspection, and management of coloured gemstones for a jewelry manufacturer.
They will work closely with designers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality stones that meet the company's aesthetic and quality standards.
The Colour Stone Manager will also be responsible for maintaining an inventory of stones, tracking costs and pricing, and ensuring timely delivery to support the production schedule.
Responsibilities:
1. Source and procure a wide range of coloured gemstones from trusted suppliers.
2. Inspect and evaluate stones for quality, clarity, cut, and colour consistency.
3. Collaborate with designers to understand their requirements and provide guidance on stone selection.
4. Manage inventory of coloured stones, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.
5. Work closely with production teams to ensure timely delivery of stones to support the manufacturing process.
6. Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective procurement.
7. Stay updated on market trends and new stone varieties to inform product development decisions.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with stone suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
9. Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical knowledge and support during client consultations.
