Om Jewellers is looking for a QC Executive – Jewellery with at least 2 years of relevant jewellery industry experience. The candidate will be responsible for inspecting jewellery for quality, workmanship, finishing, stone setting, product specifications, and overall presentation before the pieces move to inventory, sales, or dispatch.
The role requires strong attention to detail and practical knowledge of jewellery manufacturing and finishing. The candidate will work closely with production, design, inventory, and sales teams to identify quality issues, coordinate corrections, and ensure that only properly finished products reach the customer.
Responsibilities
Jewellery Quality Inspection
Inspect finished and semi-finished jewellery at different stages of production.
Check jewellery for manufacturing defects, scratches, dents, uneven finishing, improper polish, and other visible issues.
Verify the jewellery against approved designs, samples, specifications, and customer requirements.
Check overall finishing, symmetry, proportions, and workmanship.
Identify products that require rework before final approval.
Diamond & Stone Quality Checks
Check the placement and setting of diamonds and gemstones.
Inspect stones for loose settings, damage, chipping, incorrect placement, or other issues.
Verify stone count, shape, size, and placement against the product specification.
Check prongs, bezels, pave settings, and other relevant setting work.
Coordinate with the production team to correct setting-related issues.
Gold Jewellery Inspection
Check jewellery weight and specifications wherever required.
Inspect gold jewellery for proper finishing and workmanship.
Verify dimensions and product details against the approved specifications.
Identify discrepancies between the actual product and design or production requirements.
Ensure jewellery is ready for final approval.
Production QC
Conduct quality checks during different stages of jewellery manufacturing.
Coordinate with production teams when defects are identified.
Send products for correction or rework where required.
Re-inspect jewellery after rework to ensure the issue has been properly resolved.
Monitor recurring quality issues and report them to the concerned manager.
Final Quality Check
Conduct the final QC inspection before jewellery is moved to inventory, sales, or dispatch.
Ensure products are free from visible manufacturing and finishing defects.
Verify that jewellery tags and product details are correctly matched.
Approve finished products only after completing the required quality checks.
Ensure products meet the company's quality standards consistently.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records of inspected jewellery.
Record approved, rejected, and reworked pieces.
Maintain QC reports and inspection records.
Track recurring defects and quality concerns.
Share regular quality observations with management and production teams.
Coordination With Teams
Coordinate with Production, Design, Inventory, Sales, and Dispatch teams.
Clearly communicate defects and required corrections to the concerned team.
Follow up on pending rework and quality issues.
Assist in resolving product-related quality concerns.
Ensure smooth movement of jewellery after QC approval.
Requirements
Minimum 2+ years of experience in jewellery quality control or jewellery production.
Jewellery industry experience is mandatory.
Good understanding of jewellery manufacturing and finishing processes.
Knowledge of diamond and gemstone jewellery is preferred.
Ability to identify manufacturing and finishing defects.
Good understanding of jewellery workmanship and product specifications.
Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel and computer systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced jewellery retail/manufacturing environment.
