Job Description
We are looking for a merchandiser who deeply understands operations — someone equally
comfortable reading a sell-through report, walking a Karigar's workshop floor, negotiating with a
packaging vendor, and coordinating a shipment between our India and UK warehouses. This is not a
back-office ops role; it is the central nervous system of the business.
You will own the flow of product from manufacturer to customer, across two geographies, and you will
be the person we rely on to make sure the right SKU is in the right place at the right time — and that we
know why.
Responsibilities
SKU & Stock Planning: Own the SKU master, manage stock levels across categories, and build a
planning rhythm that balances bestsellers, new launches, and slow movers.
• Manufacturer Management & Sourcing: Be the primary point of contact for our existing
manufacturing partners, and actively scout, evaluate, and onboard new ones to build resilience
and unlock new product capabilities.
• COGS Ownership: Understand the cost build-up of every piece — materials, making charges,
certification, packaging — and work to optimise it without compromising on craft.
• Cross-Border Warehousing: Coordinate warehousing operations across India and the UK, ensuring
stock visibility, accurate inventory, and smooth movement between locations.
• Demand Planning & Analytics: Identify fast-moving SKUs, predict demand patterns, and translate
that into purchase orders and production plans. Bring a data-led lens to merchandising decisions.
• Supply Chain Streamlining: Continuously identify bottlenecks across the chain — from raw
material procurement to last-mile delivery — and put systems in place to fix them.
• Packaging & Display Sourcing: Lead vendor sourcing and planning for packaging, display units, and
any retail or trade-show collateral.
• Communication: Keep founders, the UK team, manufacturers, and warehouse partners aligned
through clear, structured, and proactive communication.
Requirements
4–8 years of experience in jewellery, fashion, or premium D2C/retail brands, with a strong
merchandising or buying foundation and meaningful operational exposure.
• Strong commercial instincts — comfortable with COGS, margins, sell-through, and stock turn.
• Manufacturing exposure: experience working with manufacturers, karigars, or workshop-based
supply chains is a significant plus.
• Cross-geography comfort: prior exposure to import/export or cross-border logistics is a bonus.
• Sharp analytical mindset — Excel/Sheets fluency is non-negotiable; familiarity with inventory or
ERP tools is welcome.
• Excellent communication — both written and verbal, across internal teams and external partners.
• A founder's mindset: hands-on, organised, low-ego, and energised by ambiguity.
